Single-Origin Beans
We work directly with a small circle of importers who know the farms by name. Every lot on the bar has a story we can tell you — the co-op, the elevation, the pickers, the year.

Roasting
Our 12kg drum roaster runs Tuesday mornings — small batches, cupped that afternoon, on the shelf by Wednesday. If a bag has our name on it, one of us tasted it and signed off.

The Room
Long wood tables, a couple of window seats, and a corner where the sun lands after ten. Come for one cup, stay for three. Wi-Fi if you need it, quiet if you don't.
Our Story
Brewline started as a Saturday habit — cupping green samples in June Ostrander's garage on the east side, arguing about roast curves, drinking too much of the results. When the corner shop on Division came up for lease we took it as a sign, painted the walls the color of unbleached paper, and put a bar in the window.
We're still small. We roast Tuesdays, brew everything else, and know most of the regulars by their drink before their name. If you're new, come in and ask what we're excited about — someone will tell you honestly.
Portland has a good coffee scene. We're happy to be a quiet part of it.

Founder & Head Roaster

“A good cafe should feel like someone's living room, if that someone happened to be really into coffee.”

Regulars
“I've been ordering the same drip cup for three years and they still ask which origin I want. It's the only cafe I trust with a spoken recommendation.”

Hawthorne, Portland
Usual · House drip, no room
“The room is quiet in the good way. I've written two book chapters at that window table and nobody once side-eyed the laptop.”
Marcus O.

Usual · Cortado
“Bought a bag on a whim, went home and made the best pour-over of my life. Came back the next weekend. Now they know my dog's name too.”

“Come in, sit down, order the thing you actually want.”
